Summer Reading Club Grand Finale at Union Film Theater

The grand finale of the Summer Reading Club took place at the Union Film Theater in Bochum last Friday, 5th September. Over 250 participants gathered to celebrate their reading achievements over the summer months.

The film screening at the event was "A Girl Named Willow". The six-member jury, consisting of employees from various Bochum library locations and a representative of "Bochum4", selected the winners for the Summer Reading Club Reading Oscars.

Matthias Luig presented the Reading Oscars at the grand finale. The awards were presented in categories such as "Best Overall Work", "Best Online Story", and "Most Creative Reading Logbook". A selection of creative ideas from the participants was displayed on the large cinema screen.

All participants received a certificate for their participation, as well as a creatively designed logbook from the Summer Reading Club. For those who couldn't attend the grand finale, their certificates and logbooks can be picked up at their home library.

The Summer Reading Club, organised by Bochum's city libraries, has been a great success this year, encouraging reading and creativity among its participants. With the grand finale now over, we look forward to next year's event with excitement!
