Alessandria Residents March for Palestine, Clashes Erupt
In Alessandria, residents held a demonstration in support of Palestine, with around 500 people gathering in Piazza della Lega. The procession, which was the third in ten days, marched towards the station, leading to clashes with police. The main event aimed to show solidarity with the people of Palestine and condemn the Israeli army's attack on the Global Sumud Flotilla.
Earlier, Maurizio Carandini, the headmaster of the Paolo and Rita Borsellino comprehensive institute in Valenza, announced that students would participate in a moment of reflection and remembrance for the victims of wars around the world, with a particular focus on the war in Palestine. Instead of a strike, students will engage more closely with global events, as announced by Carandini in Rome on Friday, October 3. The procession on Saturday evening entered the station at 7 pm, chanting 'Free Palestine'.
The demonstration in Alessandria was a show of solidarity with the people of Palestine and a condemnation of the Israeli army's actions. It was the third such event in the city in the past ten days, highlighting the growing concern and support for the Palestinian cause among the local community.
