In a significant development in the Ukrainian agricultural sector, Cyprus-based Casablanca Shipping Limited, owned by Epicenter K, has acquired a substantial 32.61% stake in Promtekhinovatsiya in 2025. This move marks the beginning of a strategic alliance between Epicenter K and the Urbansky family, who retain the remaining shares of the company.

Anatoliy Urbansky, a Ukrainian politician and co-investor in the project, confirmed the news in April 2025. Urbansky, an independent candidate from the Odesa region who was elected in 2019, serves on the Budget Committee and is part of the "For the Future" parliamentary group in Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada.

The project involves the construction of a grain terminal on the Black Sea coast, at Pivdennyi Port in the Odesa region. The terminal, expected to handle 5 million tons of grain annually, will be equipped with two tower cranes, each with a capacity of 1,500 tons per hour, for loading agricultural products onto vessels.

The project also includes a 10-hectare rail station capable of processing up to 3 million tons per year. The rail unloading station can handle five freight trains daily, each with 50 to 70 railcars. The port facilities will feature a 350-meter berth with a 16-meter depth. The terminal's silos can store 250,000 tons of grain.

Epicenter Agro, a subsidiary of Epicenter K, is overseeing the construction of the terminal. The Urbansky family, while controlling access to the port, does not have agricultural production. Their partnership with Epicenter K is expected to bridge this gap.

Notably, Anatoliy Urbansky's asset declaration in 2021 listed ownership of 4,256 bitcoins, worth about Hr.6.7 billion at the time (approximately $162 million). As of August 2025, Urbansky's bitcoin holdings are worth about $485 million. This digital currency wealth adds a unique dimension to the strategic alliance between the Urbansky family and Epicenter K.

The first announcement of this project was made by Epicenter K CEO Petro Mykhailyshyn in November 2024. With the acquisition now complete, the stage is set for the construction and operation of this significant grain terminal, poised to make a significant impact on Ukraine's agricultural sector and the global grain market.
