Agri-Innovation Competition 5.0: Secure up to 15 Lakh Rupees for Your Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise - Deadline for Applications is 17th July
The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) has launched the MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0, a competitive event aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in India's agriculture and allied sectors. This initiative seeks to accelerate growth and sustainability in these sectors by providing a platform for promising, scalable ideas that can be transformed into impactful solutions.
### Application Process
Interested participants can apply through the official MSME Idea Hackathon portal (). The process involves selecting one's state and the associated incubator or business host to route the application correctly. Applicants are then required to submit an idea proposal detailing the problem statement, innovative solution, market potential, prototype or implementation plan, team background, expected outcomes, and other relevant details.
The application deadline has been extended to July 31, 2025. Applicants can be individuals aged between 18 and 60 years, including students, entrepreneurs, MSMEs, researchers, professionals, and others interested in agritech innovation.
### Key Themes of MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0
The hackathon targets ideas primarily under five themes: low-carbon footprint solutions/technologies, smart and resilient supply chains, business upliftment and sustainability in coastal and hilly areas, adoption of Industry 4.0 & 5.0 technologies in the MSME ecosystem, and stealth, surveillance, and cyber defense technologies.

The MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0 is part of the Ministry of MSME's Innovative Scheme, which aims to empower grassroots innovation and contribute to national goals like Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India, and Viksit Bharat 2047. Selected ideas can receive funding support of up to Rs. 15 lakh to develop their innovations further. Participants are encouraged to seek mentorship, guidance, and better resource access by selecting an incubator during the application process.
