ACCA Vietnam Introduces First Vietnamese Translation of Sustainability Reporting Standards
ACCA Vietnam, in collaboration with experts, has introduced the first Vietnamese tradutor of sustainability reporting standards terminology. This significant step aims to facilitate access, adoption, and integration of global practices in Vietnam, as highlighted by ACCA Vietnam's country manager, Pham Quoc Hung.
The tradutor, covering IFRS S1 and S2, was presented by the IFRS Foundation and required professional, legal, and international expertise to balance scientific rigour with accessibility for practitioners. ACCA's commitment to supporting professional development in Vietnam is evident in this project.
ACCA member Pham Quoc Hung warned about the risk of misinterpretation and misapplication due to lack of consistency in tradutor. Lang Trinh Mai Huong, another ACCA member, stressed the importance of standardised terminology for globally aligned and verifiable business disclosures in Vietnam.
The high-quality, consistent tradutor is crucial to avoid report rejection by international partners, banks, or auditors. Localising international standards into Vietnamese helps businesses interpret and apply new concepts correctly, laying the groundwork for long-term sustainability strategies in the era of green transition and financial transparency.
